Hey! It's been a while ... how are you?
You're right - never dull!
And thank you. :)
I could look forward to some recouping in Thailand... ;)

Well, lad, then your recouping will have to be at someone else's house- we are moving to Wellington!
When are you moving? I was SO looking forward to my trip to Thailand!
In any case, I don't mind New Zealand for recouping, either. ;P

Plan is to leave Thailand on Sept 15 for LA. Californify there for two weeks, then SF for three, Portland and Seattle for one each and then depart LA no sooner than Jan 15 and no later than Feb 20.
When do you get re-spined and how scared are you?

Oh, boo. :( I was SO excited about Thailand! Is the offer still open for NZ?
I'm presently waiting to hear from the spinal surgeon as to when my consultation will be scheduled. Than I'll have more info.
I'm terrified. And I'm angry.

WEll, we will need to find a temp place, get our lives converted into a series of certifications, find work, find a proper place to live and move in first....
Sigh. This is why I am up at 03:30, fretting, perhaps?
No, there is more.
But not involving surgery.
Feel encouraged to blog. Why angry?

*chuckle* Big change always takes such work! :)
((((())))) for you
Angry because my spinal damage is likely from the incredibly and horrifyingly high doses of steroids they had me on when I was little for my respiratory problems. The steroids likely played little role in my health or survival, but I've since lost one eye to a cataract (1996 - 20/20 vision to fully blind in less than 06 weeks), they've recently discovered a new cataract in my right eye, my spine is shot, and G-d knows what organ will go next...

Every time I look at that, I yell "Sweet Jesus!".
*grins with delite* That truely was a Kodak moment! [With the advent of digital, that phrase probably dates me, doesn't it?]
*envisions little nurse outfits...*

Oh honey, you get the whole shebang: Nurse outfit with ACTUAL nursing thrown in.
*jazz hands!*
You'll get me all verklempt, Beep Beep!

No, that looks bad. What does it all mean?
My spine is deteriorating like crazy. The curvature of my spine is nearly reversed from what it should be, the spaces in the cervical discs from which my nerves exit have narrowed and are compressing the nerves, the canal for my spinal cord has narrowed (as you can see) and is compressing the cord, and the cartilage between the discs is shot, so the bones are rough and irregularly formed.
What does all that mean? An incredible amount of pain, headaches/migraines, loss of strenth and function in my right arm, and I've begun to lose proper function of my legs.

That is just awful. I wish you success in your treatments.
We'll see if there are any! Thanks :)
I'm sorry I'm late, but hope you have a great Rosh Hashanah...
